We offer instruction in Classical French Fencing in all three weapons: Foil, Epee and Sabre, for the beginner as well as the experienced fencer.

All students must PRE-REGISTER for classes. Please register online

BEGINNER FENCING

SATURDAYS - Ages 10-14 and 14-Adult

Students register based on age group and class offered.

$110 (pre-paid, discounted rate) for 6-session (9-hour) course - All equipment provided
All students should prepay course fees prior to the first class session
Cost is $120 (CASH ONLY) if paid on the first day of class (no discount)

DESCRIPTION:
This class is an introduction to the Art of Classical Foil Fencing. Students will learn how to move, defend, and attack using the basic fencing weapon - the foil - in the Classical French style.
It is a relaxed workout coupled with exposure to the historical origins of this exciting martial art. Great for developing physical agility and mental focus, fencing is also FUN!
Fencing develops better eye-hand coordination, physical agility, grace, and balance, while promoting cardiovascular fitness and increased confidence and self-esteem.
All fencing equipment and instruction provided.
Please wear sneakers (no crocs, flip flops, boots, street shoes) and comfortable clothing (long pants) for this class. Gentlemen will also need their own cup (athletic protector) starting on week two.

INTERMEDIATE FENCING

Young Blades (ages 10-13) and Open (ages 14-Adult) -
Prior experience necessary, this program runs ALL YEAR.
(see Coach McMahon)

DESCRIPTION:
This class is for FCB Beginner class graduates ONLY. Students must be graduates of a Beginner Class and have permission of the instructor. This class will pick up where Beginner Training left off . . . Skills will include: Compound Attacks, Attacks on the Blade, and more advanced footwork. Students will be fencing, judging and directing from Day 1.
Monthly or Quarterly membership - See the RATES page in the MEMBERS section for details.
Classes offered 3 times weekly
Students attend as often as they choose.

YOUNG BLADES Elite Fencers need their own fencing equipment (see Coach McMahon).

YB-ELITE members need their own electric foil gear to participate in the YB-ELITE electric lesson on MON & WED, as well as the GAUNTLET foil challenge. Young Blades fencers may also train with the Intermediate group on TUE, THU & SAT.

KIDS BEGINNER FENCING (ages 7-9)

DESCRIPTION:
This class is an introduction to the Art of Classical Foil Fencing, designed for KIDS ages 7-9. Young fencers will learn how to move, defend, and attack using a practice safety sword - in the Classical French style.
Kids in this class will be learning correct fencing form, developing appropriate fencing skills and cultivating courtesy and respect for others, as well as learning about the historical origins of this exciting sport. Great for developing physical agility and mental focus, fencing is also FUN!
Fencing develops better eye-hand coordination, physical agility, grace, and balance, while promoting cardiovascular fitness and increased confidence and self-esteem.
The main focus of this class will be to teach students a correct EN GARDE stance as well as our CODE OF CONDUCT. On week four, they will be given an opportunity to take the SQUIRES' TEST, in order to advance to the next level of study (Squires). The study materials for this test are found on the LITTLE KNIGHTS page of the MEMBERS section of this web site. Contact Coach McMahon for details.
